About Baby Massage

Baby Massage is  wonderful for Mum, Dad, and Baby.
It is easy to learn, and is a skill you will have for life, which you can continue to use as your baby, and your family, grows.

In India, and many other cultures,  massage is a part of the daily routine for babies and children, from the time they are born. Older children often learn to massage their parents!

In most cultures human touch is instinctively used to comfort and calm babies and children. Massage can be thought of as an extension of this.

Massage is thought to benefit babies in many physical and emotional ways.

I use a combination of Massage and Reflexology in my classes, but if you've already learnt Baby Massage you can chose to learn Baby Reflexology only, as a separate class.

How Will I Learn?

In your own Home - At a time to suit you!
You will learn Baby Massage over four sessions, each lasting about 45 mins, and  a week apart.
(I am happy to be contacted by phone in-between sessions to answer any questions, and can arrange follow up sessions if you need more help at the end) 

  The first session includes a consultation to make sure that it's safe for your baby to have massage, and a 'Patch test' with the oil to make sure there are no allergic reactions.
(Babies with some medical, or congenital conditions may need to check with their doctor before starting massage).

  You will start slowly, to learn a basic massage routine. I will guide you through this using a doll, while you massage your baby, You will have lots of time to ask questions and perfect your technique, at your own speed. I will leave you a detailed 'Manual' of your own to keep, and  look at while you practice.

After practicing at home you will be ready to learn some more advanced moves, learn some 'baby reflex' and learn how to adapt the massage as your baby grows.

 

Prices & Other Details

Individual Teaching, in your own home .....£50.00 - for course of 4 sessions
If you join up with a friend ...............£30.00 each - for course of 4 sessions
In groups of 3-4  ................... £25 each - for course of 4 sessions

 All prices include a manual, and a small bottle of massage oil, for each baby.-

Before you book
Book any time, but your baby will need to have had his/her  '6-8  week check'  before we start.
She/he will need to wait a week after an immunisation  (10 days after MMR) before having a massage. 
However I have a life-sized Doll which you can practice with if required!
